Culture, Carnivals, Candles: ‘Kung Hei Fat Choi’ is a blessing sentence that we normally say during Chinese New Year. One of the Indian festivals is Diwali and Scottish’s ‘Highland Games’. The three students are changing their experiences and knowledge about their own countries’ festivals and cultures. This information can be found in the programme of ‘Culture, Carnivals and Candles’. Hong Kong is a multi- culture country, people from different countries and cities come to live, work and study. Here is a great opportunity for us to learn about their festivals and traditions. Some of them are really interesting that we have never heard about them before. They have different gods to pray, worship and believe. Also, they wear various types of traditional costumes and eat different style of food during festivals. Understanding others’ festivals and learning each other’s cultures bring us a great chance to enrich our own knowledge and our status of being Hong Kong people in order to serve them.
